HOST AN “OREOS AND MILK” PARTY
Meg’s favorite dessert? Oreos!
In one scene from Undeniably Yours Meg and Amber share conversation over Oreos and milk. You can recreate the same feel by having your members wear slippers to your meeting. After you pour the milk and pass around the Oreos, discuss everyone’s preferred method of eating ‘America’s favorite cookie’. Pull apart? Dunk? Regular style?
Meg and I, as it happens, both prefer our Oreos regular style!
HOST A “LUNCH AT MISS TIGGY-WINKLES”
In Undeniably Yours, Kate enjoys an outdoor Sunday lunch with Sadie Jo and Lynn.
If your book club shares a meal at your meetings, you can eat what they ate: chicken salad sandwiches, fruit, chips, green salad. If your group prefers sweets, you might want to settle on the dessert the three characters shared that day (and a very famous Texas dessert, to boot) pecan pie. Here’s my favorite recipe:
HOST A “PORTER FAMILY PICNIC”
Remember the day Meg first meets the Porters? The family eats a lunch of hamburgers, BBQ Lay’s, and potato salad off paper plates. They drink Dr. Pepper. For dessert, the serve homemade vanilla ice cream.
If you’re interested in earning extra gold stars for book club decorations, you could set your child’s toy horses on the table, stick up some pictures of Texas (its flag, its legendary “Don’t Mess With Texas” slogan, wildflowers), and hang red, white, and blue streamers.

I know that book groups choose books in different ways. In case it’s helpful to you to “pitch” a quick summary of the novel to your group, here goes:
Soft-spoken Meg is more interested in art than in business, but when her father dies she inherits his oil company, his fortune, and his Thoroughbred horse ranch. She asks the ranch's caretaker, Bo, to shut the place down. But will Bo prove the only part of her father's empire worth keeping?
