QUICK AND EASY DINNER:

“Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken BBQ”

4 chicken breasts, 1 cup of bottled BBQ sauce (I like ...), 1/3 cup Italian salad dressing, 2 heaping Tablespoons brown sugar, 1 heaping Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.  Dump all the ingredients in a crock pot and stir.  Cook for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 on low.  Shred up the chicken with two forks and serve on a bun.

PLACE TO WRITE:

My desk at home.  I love to be right in front of a bright and sunny window.

QUIET TIME:

I’m in between Bible studies at present, so I’m using one of those books with a Bible verse and inspirational thought for each day.  Once I read it, I turn to the chapter in the Bible that the verse came from, and pour over the entire chapter.  In this way, not only can I can see the verse in context, but I always come across other amazing verses.  That done, I pray, and then jam out to a song or two of praise music on my itunes.  It’s like a mini worship service!

WRITER’S SNACK:

Homemade iced tea & Blue Diamond brand “Habanero BBQ almonds”.  Have you tried those things?!

CUTE SHIRT TO WEAR WITH JEANS:

Any of the‘Olivia Moon’ tops.  If you’re a city dweller like me, check them out at Nordstrom on the sale rack in the “Point Of View” section.  If you’re deprived of proximity to a Nordstrom, check them out online.

VERSE:

“Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.”

Isaiah 26:4

YUMMY KID-FRIENDLY CAKE:

“Easy Dump Cake”

1 pkg yellow cake mix, 1 (6 serving) pkg chocolate instant pudding, 4 eggs, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup water, 1 (8 oz.) container sour cream, 1 cup chocolate chips.

Dump all the ingredients in a bowl and mix, adding sour cream, and choc chips last.  Pour batter into greased and floured bundt pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.  Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate or cooling rack.

*A friend found this recipe online and gave it to me, all it says on my copy is “submitted by Meredith”.  Thanks, Meredith, whoever you are!  We eat your cake often around here.  :)
